This training video and its companion documents guide you through performance of spirometry testing, including instruction on how to report your results after testing and methods for recognizing testing errors. Upon completion of these training materials, the learner will be able to:

  • Identify acceptable calibration to verify equipment performance.
  • Recognize acceptable and repeatable Forced Vital Capacity (or "FVC") trials.
  • Document observation of patient effort, level of cooperation, and overall performance.
  • Identify common performance errors and be able to correct them.
